Swatches of Elvis' Bed Sheets Charlotte, March 10, 1974
|
From an exciting purchase we just made, these are genuine pieces of bed sheets used by
Elvis during his stay at the Charlotte Sheraton on March 10, 1974.
Swatches of the sheets were originally offered through the Charlotte Observer newspaper in
1974 in exchange for a charitable donation. These sheets came from a staff member who
kept pieces of the sheet as a keepsake after the offer had finished. The collection, as we
received it, consisted of 12 swatches already cut into 2 to 3 inch squares, 3 off cut strips and
one large section of sheet measuring 27 x 42.5 inches.
The sheet swatches are a rich yellow cotton and have been cut into sections (approximately
2 x 2 inches), just as originally offered by the paper.
With each swatch comes:
1.) A reprint of the article in which the offer was made telling the complete story of the sheets
2.) Colour photograph of the pieces of bedsheets from which the swatches came
As Kays Gary, the reporter that originally obtained the bedsheets, attested:
"Certainly it'll be an instant collectors item... We neither presume that the Presley sheets were
'sinned on' nor that their purchase will have a redeemable spiritual value. It's corny, it's campy
but Elvis Presley and The Colonel understand these things and I'm sure they don't mind."

Each swatch is £10/$15 and comes with full documentation

The swatches are limited in number.
