We had these two meteorites classified a few years ago and they both came back as
L4 chondrites. Both are attractive meteorites, but at the time we did not suspect the
stones were related. A year or so later when we purchased the rest of the stones from
the vicinity of these finds we began to suspect they represented the same shower.
The outer surfaces of the meteorites are indistinguishable and it is only on cutting that
visible differences can be seen. Yet, the interiors of the two main masses seemed
wildly different. In 2007 we cut the main masses and other stones from the fall. We
found that one stone in particular seemed to contain the clearly differentiated lithology
of both the main masses (others contained a blend of the two types), suggesting, at
least unofficially, that these falls are paired. The differences in lithology are caused by
shocking - the dark, chondrule sparse matrix being heavily shocked by impacts.

Update 2009: Recently when cutting another stone in the fall we came across a
third type of lithology. This stone has not been classified, but when cut is light grey
in colour, with abundant metallic flakes and distinct pores/vessicles. For now we
are listing the slices from this stone with NWA 2839/40 but will update the page
accordingly if we are able to get the stone classified. Most of the following slices
have not been polished as they look much better in their raw form as the colour of
the matrix is dulled with polishing.
