The specimens listed on this page are all thin sections of Permian vertebrate fossils from the
Lower Permian of Oklahoma. Each specimen has been mounted on a glass slide and ground
thin enough for light to pass through it to reveal the internal details of the bone. Each slide is
individually labelled with full geological data and the genus/species represented. A typical thin
section measures around 3/4 inch. The images show representative examples of each type.
