    Palaeozoic Survey Collection 20 Samples

This is a comprehensive collection featuring microfossil samples from the Palaeozoic. In all there are Twenty (20) different samples, which between them contain small shelly fossils, ostracods, fusulinids, conodonts, reptiles, amphibians, sharks, fish, foraminifera, bryozoa, scolecodonts, plants and more. Samples cover the Cambrian through the Permian and show a massive diversity of life forms.

Many samples have ID cards so that you can put names on many of the specimens that you find. There are thousands of fossils in this collection. Each sample has been processed and sieved so that it can be picked for microfossils.

The contents of the collection typically include the following specimens although minor changes may be made based on stock levels.

.) Cambrian - Pioche Shale (Small Shelly Fossils)

.) Lower Pooleville Member, Bromide Formation, Ordovician

.) Upper Pooleville Member, Bromide Formation, Ordovician

.) Decorah Shaale, Ordovician

.) Wenlock Limestone, Silurian

.) Halla Beds, Silurian (Gotland)

.) Haragan Formation, Lower Devonian

.) Silica Shale, Middle Devonian (Bryozoans)

.) Ledyard Shale, Devonian (Tenataculitids)

.) New Albany Shale - Upper Devonian (Conodonts)

.) Beechwood Limestone - Upper Devonian (Conodonts)

.) Ellsworth Shale - Upper Devonian (Plants)

.) Prospect Hill Formation - Mississippian (Conodonts, sharks/fish)

.) Salem Limestone, Mississippian (Foraminifera)

.) Eudora Shale, Pennsylvanian

.) Lester Limestone, Pennsylvanian (Bryozoa)

.) Gene Autry Shale - Pennsylvanian

.) South Bend Shale - Pennsylvanian (Fusulinids)

.) Bennet Shale - Permian (Fusulinids)

.) Wellington Garbar Complex - Permian (Sharks, reptiles, amphibians)

Periodically we may substitute a sample if it is no longer available but we endeavour to keep this listing up to date. The image below shows a collection similar to the one on offer.
